OSSICON 2024 Kochi

The 21st National Conference of Obesity Surgery Society of India (OSSI), OSSICON 2024, organized by the Minimally Invasive Surgery Department at VPS Lakeshore Hospital, Keyhole Clinic, Verwandeln Institute and ASI Kerala Chapter, held from February 07th to 10th at Kochi. Dr R Padmakumar was the Organizing Chairman of the conference and welcomed the gathering.

Dr Gerhard Prager, President IFSO (International Federation of Surgeons for Obesity and Metabolic Surgery) inaugurated the event. Dr Praveen Raj, President OSSI delivered the Presidential address. Shri S.K Abdulla, Managing Director, VPS Lakeshore Hospital offered felicitations and Dr Madhukar Pai, Organizing Secretary delivered vote of thanks.

The conference aimed to update recent advances in the field of Obesity treatment like medical management, Bariatric Surgery, Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Mini Gastric Bypass, Intragastric balloon placement; so that the patients affected with obesity and associated illnesses will be highly benefitted.

The mega conference had participation of around 300 Surgeons from various parts of India and various other countries.
